Remember that there is a treble clef (played with right hand) and bass clef (played with left hand). Each clef has a staff, which tells you which notes to play. There are five lines and four spaces for each staff. A music note can be placed on either a line or a space and depending on the line or space, tells you which note to play on the piano and where to play it. When memorizing the lines and spaces for each clef, make sure to count from the bottom of the staff to the top to get the right answer. The lines of the treble clef are E, G, B, D and F. The spaces of the treble clef are F, A, C, E. Lines of the bass clef will be G, B, D, F, A and spaces are A, C, E, G.
