Intermediate Piano Lessons 1 – Learn How to Play Piano Better with Good Practice. This is a new series for intermediate students. It will review the aspects of good piano practice and what things you should be including in your practice.
The Keys of Good Practice are as Follows:
1.Consistency of practice is very important as it will allow you to form good practice habits.
2. You want to focus on what you are working on. Create goals and concentrate on what you are doing.
4. Change things up for a little bit for variety.
5. Get 15-30 minutes for beginners; 30-60 for intermediate; 2-4 hours for advanced.

In terms of consistency, it is always better to practice for a smaller amount of time everyday than it is to practice for many hours a couple of days. Make sure to develop good practice habits and make practicing a priority. Pretend that your time at the piano is a class that you need to graduate from school. Don’t skip it unless absolutely necessary. Have goals when you practice and consistently focus on those goals each time you practice.
You want to start with the most difficult material since your levels of concentration will be the highest when you first sit down at the piano. Some of the things you should be practicing include scales, arpeggios, and Hanon exercises. Learning your scales will help your fingering as well as understand what notes exist within a certain key. This piano lesson is only recommended if you have learned to very basics of playing the piano. Coming up with a good piano practice routine is essential and will ensure you get the most out of your piano lessons. Polishing your practice routine is a solid first step at moving to be an intermediate to advanced piano student.
