The items on this list are easy to understand, but putting them into your practice will take some work.
1. The first key of good practice is consistency. It is better to practice a little bit everyday than a whole lot for just one day. Your brain will be able to pick up smaller pieces of information at a time and consistency will allow you to develop good practice habits. Just like exercise or brushing your teach, piano practice requires consistency.

2. Focus. Focus on what you are doing and make sure to turn off your phone, T.V. or whatever else may distract you. I also recommend you set a timer and stick to it. Don’t get up from the piano unless absolutely necessary!

3. Add some variety in to your practice so that you don’t get bored. You need to have consistency like I mentioned before, but you also need to change things up every once in awhile.

4. It is recommended that you get 15-30 minutes of practice a day for a beginner, 30-60 minutes for an intermediate and 2-4 hours for an advanced student.

5. ENJOY YOURSELF!

Additional Information:
Some additional things you may want to add to your practice include hanon exercises, czerny exercises, scales, and arpeggios. It is also recommended that you practice with a metronome, which will help you keep time.
