Master your understanding of dotted quarter notes, sixteenth notes, and triplets. Remember that a dotted quarter note gets one and a half beats, counted as 1 + 2. A sixteenth note only gets one quarter of a beat and is counted as 1 e + a. A triplet is when you split a beat into three equal parts counted as 1 tri plet.
