“Yesterday” Beatles – Piano Lessons

Take some piano lessons from Scott Houston “The Piano Guy.” In this video, Scott and his guest David Tolley, demonstrate how to play The Beatles classic hit, Yesterday. David describes how he personalizes the tune by beginning with a single note melody line. Then he demonstrates how you can fill in by adding chords by rolling up the notes that comprise the chords. Later he uses block chords instead of the rolling chords for a little variety.

David also reveals some techniques to add interest to the right hand melody part. He shows you how you can to add grace notes, run ups (arpeggios) and octaves just to name a few.

Some of the left hand variations shared include: block chords, oompahs, arpeggios and a changing of the rhythm.

Scott’s life goal is help you learn to play piano through piano lessons that you can take anywhere and at any time to get you started having some fun at a piano or keyboard as quickly as possible.
